Frequently asked questions

What is Gachapon?

Gachapon (sometimes referred to as Gashapon) is a popular type of vending machine in Japan that dispenses small, high-quality collectibles or figurines. The name "gachapon" is onomatopoeia from the sound "gacha" for the hand-cranking action of the machine and "pon" for the sound of the toy capsule landing in the collection tray. You’ll find that our Gachapon are 100% authentic Japanese brands with many of our products being Japanese exclusives and limited editions.

Do these vending machines take quarters?

Since our machines are Japanese they were originally designed to take ¥100 coins. Due to the size and weight differences between American and Japanese currency, ours have been modified to take tokens.

How do I purchase tokens?

You can purchase tokens from the store’s cash register or point of sale. Be sure to check the token requirement on each machine before buying tokens.

How can I get these machines in my store or have them at my event?

Email us at taiyakicollectibles@gmail.com describing your store/event and how many stacks of machines you’d be looking for and a rep will reach out with details.
